Matrix: Are We Trapped in Cycles?
Matrix:
Are We Trapped in Cycles?
From the day we’re born, each of us, whether plant, animal, or human, is part of a loop. We inherit and live patterns passed down through generations, often without even realizing it. Our environment shapes much of our behavior, influencing how we eat, drink, think, and even judge others based on what we see around us. For example, consider the difference between a stray dog and a pet dog. They display vastly different behaviors, health, and immunity, all shaped by their unique environments and routines. They, too, are molded by the loops they live in, each defined by their surroundings.
Our surroundings have a powerful influence on us, from the people we interact with daily-whether family, friends, colleagues, or acquaintances. Often, we find ourselves unconsciously shaped by a "matrix" of behaviors and attitudes we observe in others. But have you ever paused to wonder: How much of who we are is truly our own choice?
It's a natural phenomenon: instead of actively
seeking our own paths, we tend to follow others because it’s simpler and, more
importantly, because we often feel we don’t have time to invest in
self-discovery. We end up meeting the expectations of those around us, shaped
by their views on what we should become.
Take, for example, a child born into a family of
doctors. This child might feel an unspoken pressure to pursue the same career
path, simply because it’s what they know and what’s expected. In a similar way,
negative family behaviors, like abusive patterns, can also be passed down
across generations, becoming ingrained habits unless someone consciously
decides to break the cycle. Escaping this cycle, or “breaking free from the
matrix,” requires awareness and deliberate action. Without it, we risk becoming
what others lead us to be, repeating the patterns set by those before us.
My Personal Journey Out of the Matrix
Let me share my experience: I’ve been married for 22
years, following the routines and patterns of my current family. In doing so, I
became so immersed in this loop that I lost sight of the life I had before
marriage, where I spent 27 years with a completely different set of beliefs and
routines. Looking back over 48 years, I realize that I was navigating two
distinct cycles, each with its own patterns.
This year, however, something shifted. During a visit to my son, I had a moment of clarity (self-awakening)-I finally understood who I am meant to be versus what I’ve been doing. Changing my surroundings brought self-awareness; I could finally see how my life had been shaped by the customs, beliefs, and even insecurities of my two families. Each decision I made was influenced, sometimes unknowingly, by the patterns of these families.
Meeting new people who weren’t directly connected to
my everyday life gave me a completely fresh perspective. This time, however, I wasn’t trapped; instead, I understood the matrix of patterns we often get caught in
throughout our lives. I encountered spiritual individuals who, I believe, were
brought into my life by a higher power. Being around them felt like an
awakening of my spirit.
For the first time, I was discovering a part of
myself I had never explored. I realized what I truly needed to do, as opposed
to what I had been doing under others’ influence. It felt like a new journey
had been set before me. These spiritual people were deeply at peace, grounded
in who they were-unbound by any societal loops. Through them, I understood the
profound importance of connecting with our true selves, beyond the cycles and
expectations we often adopt without question.
Manifesting the True Self
Now, I am more focused on myself, but that doesn’t
mean I no longer care for my family. It simply means that I’ve realized it’s
far more important to nurture my own values-values that are untainted by
external influence. This shift in my mindset has empowered me to discover more
about who I truly am. I no longer tolerate drama or play a part in it. Instead,
I seek to understand the minds of others while maintaining peace within myself.
I allow people to be who they are, without letting them control me.
I am now in the process of manifesting my true self,
feeling more connected to a higher guide with each passing moment. Every
second, every day, I am waking up to my own spiritual growth. I am deeply
grateful to God for helping me break free from the matrix that was unknowingly
created by others, allowing me to step into a life of true self-awareness.
A New Path of Self-Discovery
By profession, I am a tutor, but my current path is
one of inner discovery. I began writing as a result of feeling awakened or
guided by a higher power to share my thoughts and emotions. Through this
process, I hope to help others realize the importance of breaking free from the
matrix we are unknowingly trapped in, in order to truly discover ourselves.
Have you ever embarked on your own spiritual
journey? What insights have you gained along the way?
